What are your favourite things to weave? Do you have a favourite design or colour?

I love weaving Agaseke (traditional Rwandan baskets). It’s one of my favourite things to make.

Is there something you would like to learn to weave? If so, what?

I would love to learn more intricate and advanced designs to expand my skills.

Where is your favourite place in Rwanda or around Gisenyi?

I haven’t travelled much, but I would love to visit Kigali someday.

How has it been working in a community with other ladies?

Being part of this community makes me so happy. I feel free and supported here, which is very different from how I felt before.

How has the income from weaving helped you?

The income has changed my life. It has made me financially independent, and I no longer need to ask my parents for money. It helps me take care of my kids as well.

What is your biggest dream? Is there something you would really like to achieve in the coming years?

My biggest dream is to continue growing in this craft and earn enough money to provide a good future for my children.
